"We must improve for the second leg against Lyon," says Amorim

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim expects tactical improvements ahead of the decisive Europa League quarter-final second leg against Lyon at Old Trafford.
After the dramatic 2-2 draw in France, Amorim praised his side's adaptations during the match, but stressed the need to study Lyon's game plan in more detail. “It’s going to be a tough game. We know Lyon want to make connections near their box and then use the space. We have to study the game and then try to be better in the second leg,” Amorim said.
After a poor Premier League campaign Manchester United remain unbeaten in the Europa League this season, and their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League are largely dependent on winning the competition. “It’s not just the coach, it’s everybody that’s here: the staff, the players. We want to play Champions League next year, but we have a lot to do with our club,” Amorim added.
Amorim acknowledged these challenges, but expressed confidence in his team's ability to rise to the occasion in the second leg at Old Trafford. The Portuguese boss also stressed the importance of focusing on the upcoming fixtures: “Let’s think about Newcastle, then we’ll be okay to face the next game.”
