Benfica's main objective for this summer is to ensure that Joao Felix does not leave the Portuguese team. The young midfielder is sought after by a host of top clubs, including Atletico and Juventus. His evolution is unstoppable.
At just 19 years, Joao Felix has played 39 games this year. His numbers are jaw-dropping: 18 goals and eight assists. No one would say he's a newcomer to the top level, he plays like a real veteran at such a young age.
Manchester City would even be considering the option of paying his 120 million euros clause, although the president of the Lisbon club, Luis Filipe Vieira, sent a message to his player's suitors: he is not for sale.
"I could almost guarantee the Benfiquistas that no one will leave," he said at a club event, to which he added: "Benfica will do everything possible for it. We don't let ourselves be carried away by anyone and I'm going to go to the very end so that nobody leaves the club.
The problem for the Benfica boss is that some clubs are willing to pay Joao Felix's clause, so the club, according to 'Correio da Manha', want to raise it to 200 million euros.
