The captain could not give his shirt away when offered to George Evans despite equalling Manchester United's scoring record, but the pair later exchanged in the tunnel

Once a Blue, always a Blue. That appeared to be former Manchester City player George Evans's mantra after refusing the offer of Wayne Rooney's shirt on Saturday.

The Manchester United striker was in a generous mood at full-time, having set his team on the way to a thumping 4-0 win over Reading by scoring his all-time record-equalling 249th goal.

You would think such a landmark strike would see Rooney's shirt become a prized memento but the United captain literally couldn't give it away to young Evans.
