The former Swansea keeper has been the back up to Hugo Lloris in north London for 4 seasons, in which he has only made 11 appearances in the league.
While it may be a put of the ordinary for him to start in the league, it appears that he may have to do so as Tottenham kick off their campaign on Saturday.
Lloris captained France to World Cup victory in Russia over the summer, and only returned to training last week after his extended break following the tournament.
As a result, manager Mauricio Pochettino may want to give his skipper a rest in the first match of the 2018-19 season, and if that his the case Vorm is fully prepared to step up.
"I need to make sure like always I'm ready. I always have a spell of games. I just try and be at a certain level and if I get the chance to show I'm still here." the Dutch international said.
The game will come after the transfer window has shut, with Tottenham yet to make an addition to their squad.
