Vinicius Jr’s evolution at Real Madrid

Vinicius Junior has shown at Real Madrid that with hard work dreams come true. The young Brazilian playing for Flamengo who dreamed of one day leading the attack for 'Los Blancos' has finally made it.

The Brazilian winger arrived at the Spanish club in the 2018/2019 season in a post-Cristiano Ronaldo Real Madrid. Undoubtedly these were tough years for a team that had lost their superstar, so many fans pinned their hopes on the rising star who had just arrived from Flamengo.

Vinicius Jr already showed in his first season with Real Madrid how confident he was and his great ability to dribble past opponents. However, the Brazilian winger lacked experience and effectiveness, as many of his incredible moves on the pitch did not result in goals or assists.

In his first season with the 'Merengues', the Brazil international scored just three goals and provided eight assists, while in the 2019/2020 season he scored five goals but provided fewer assists, three in total. The Brazilian's third season at the Santiago Bernabeu continued in the same vein, finishing the campaign with six goals and four assists.

Finally, in the 2021/2022 season came Vinicius' breakthrough as a global superstar, forming a duo for the ages alongside Karim Benzema under Carlo Ancelotti. The Brazilian winger led Real Madrid's forward line alongside the Frenchman, scoring 22 goals and providing 16 assists, key to leading Real Madrid to their 14th Champions League title.

However, the Brazilian had his best goalscoring campaign just last season, when he was already established as one of the best players in the world. The 'Los Blancos' star in 55 official appearances, of which 53 were as a starter, scored 23 goals and provided 19 assists, incredible numbers given his youth and the position he plays in.
