Barca were in complete control and went 0-2 after 15 through Coutinho and Malcom, Chukwueze, Villarreal's best player made it 1-2 before half-time. In the second half, Barca capitulated and Ekambi, Iborra and Bacca made it 4-2. When it looked sealed, Alvaro stupidly got himself dismissed in the 86th minute and that brought Barca to life. Messi hit a free-kick in the 89th minute and then Suarez levelled it at the death.
