On Saturday, River Plate hosted Lanus at El Monumental for a Argentine Primera Division clash. The match ended 2-1 to the home side.
River's Jose Paradela opened the scoring in the 26th minute before Braian Romero doubled his team's advantage. However, three minutes later Lanus' Lautaro Acosta halved the deficit and the teams went into the break at 2-1. That was how it stayed in terms of the scoreline until the final whistle, but just before it sounded, both Matius Perez and Aguilar Carabello were sent off for the visitors.
The result means River Plate are now in 4th place on 8 points, meanwhile Lanus are in 18th on 5.
