Ajax took a trip to Willem II in the Eredivisie on Saturday. A late goal from Jurrien Timber to save Ajax's blushes, as the game finished 0-1.
Willem II started gameweek 23 just one place above the relegation zone in 15th, so Ajax would have been eyeing the game up as a chance to boost their goal difference. However, it took Ajax 81 minutes to score the only goal of the match as Timber struck home to win all three points. The game was not as close as the scoreline suggests however, as Ajax had a total of 31 shots in the game.
The win meant Ajax maintain their lead of 5 points at the top of the table ahead of PSV. Willem II meanwhile continue to stay in dangerous territory as they teeter above the drop zone still in 15th. Watch Timber's goal in the video above!
