The game got off to a lively start when 'Gladback goalkeeper Yan Sommer was shown a straight red card in the 13th minute. Hertha then proceeded to open the scoring, with a goal from Ascacibar on the 23rd minute. This was shortly canceled out barely four minutes later, with a great finish from Plea featured in the adjacent video. Lars Stindl put the ten men of 'Gladbach in front on the 38th minute, however Hertha equalised shortly after the break through a goal from Cordoba.
The points were shared in the end in Berlin, leaving no real change to the Bundesliga table for either side. 'Gladbach currently sit in 8th, four points off a Europa League play-off spot.
