Palmeiras travelled to Buenos Aires to face River Plate in a Copa Libertadores semi-final first leg. 

Despite a bright start by River, Palmeiras took the lead after 27 minutes through Rony. Another defensive error saw Luiz Adriano put the Brazilians 0-2 up early in the second half and then Matias Carrascal saw red for River on the hour mark. 

Matias Vina scored Palmeiras' third two minutes later and Palmeiras had a fair few chances to get a fourth, but failed to take them. The 0-3 scoreline left River with a mountain to climb in the second leg. Take a look at the highlights from the fixture in the video above!
