Watch 17-year-old striker Liam Delap's debut golazo that helped Manchester City to a 2-1 win against Championship side Bournemouth in the EFL Cup.
Delap opened the scoring just 18 minutes into his first professional game before his strike was cancelled out by Surridge just four minutes later. Fellow academy graduate Phil Foden got the winner in the 75th minute to send City through. The game also saw Zack Steffen make his Manchester City debut in goal.
Delap signed for City a year ago from Derby County's academy, aged 16, where he played 8 games for the under-18s and scored one goal. He has performed exceptionally for City's under-18s and under-23s since joining, with fans' long calls for his promotion to the first-team set-up finally answered on Thursday night. He is perhaps best known as the son of Rory Delap, the Stoke defender who became a legend for his game-changing throw-ins.
