Brazil travelled to San Juan to take on Argentina in a 2022 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night.
The match at the Estadio San Juan del Bicentenario was far from a classic as there were plenty of fouls and very little goalmouth action. Vinicius showed a good bit of skill and the Brazilians struck the crossbar in the second half, but there was a controversial incident in the first period. Nicolas Otamendi of Argentina elbowed Raphinha in the face, drawing blood from the Leeds man, but referee Andres Cunha did not give a foul. Despite it being a clear red card, the VAR said no. Brazil player Militao was happy that his team kept Lionel Messi at bay and you can listen to his comments in the video above!
Argentina are 2nd on 29 points while Brazil are top on 35 points. Both teams have qualified for next season's World Cup.
