VIDEO: Giménez’s red card v Athletic Bilbao

Atletico Madrid took on Athletic Bilbao in a Spanish Super Cup semi-final on Thursday. 

After a goalless first half in Riyadh, Atletico took the lead in the 62nd minute when Joao Felix's shot hit the post and then hit goalkeeper Unai Simon before going in. Yeray Alvarez levelled the scores 13 minutes from time and then Nico Williams gave Athletic Bilbao the lead after 81 minutes. Atletico finished with 10 men after Jose Maria Gimenez caught Inigo Martinez in the face with his boot and saw red after a VAR review. Take a look at Gimenez's dismissal in the video above!

Athletic Bilbao will take on Real Madrid in Sunday's final at 19:30 CET. Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 3-2 after extra-time on Wednesday in the other semi-final.
