Martinelli has already joined Arsenal's pre-season training camp, a few days before the start of the Premier League. The Brazilian is coming off the back of playing in the Olympic Games with his country and winning the gold medal, although he has only played three games and none of them as a starter.
Arteta will be hoping the 20-year-old can step up and live up to the expectations of the Gunners' board. He is in his third season in London and will be fighting for a starting place, as last season was rather poor.
He played a total of 22 games and only 14 in the Premiership. He scored two goals and provided two assists.
