On the opening weekend of the 2008-09 season, Chelsea faced Portsmouth at Stamford Bridge in manager Luiz Felipe Scolari's first game in charge.
Deco had just joined the club in the summer from Barca and he made an instant impact. He scored the final goal in a 4-0 win thanks to an 88th minute strike. He struck a curling shot from 30 yards which beat David James in the Pompey goal. Joe Cole, Nicolas Anelka and Frank Lampard's penalty had given the Blues a 3-0 lead at half-time.
Chelsea ended that season third while Pompey were 14th. Deco went on to spend two years in West London before joining Fluminense. Check out Deco's goal in the video above!
