Tottenham Hotspur's Champions League semi-final has not started well for the London side. Not only did they go behind to Donny van de Beek's 15th minute strike, but they also lost key central defender Jan Vertonghen before half-time.
Vertonghen went up for a header in the Ajax box in the 31st minute, but only connected with the back of teammate Toby Alderweireld's head as Ajax keeper André Onana came and took out everything in his path to make matters worse.
The Belgian defender was left bleeding on the floor, but astonishingly tried to carry on - a decision which Spurs' medical team will no doubt come under fire for. Just moments later, however, Vertonghen stumbled to the sideline in a daze and had to helped off by a combination of the Tottenham medical team and his manager Mauricio Pochettino.
