The Rotherham forward, who is yet to score this season, but notched 11 League goals in 2017/18 has won his maiden call up to Michael O'Neill's squad.
The froward could now feature against Austria and Bosnia-Herzegovina. A statement from the country's FA read:
"Rotherham striker Kyle Vassell has been called into the Northern Ireland senior men's international squad for the first time,"
"The 25-year-old qualifies to play for Northern Ireland through his Fermanagh-born grandfather."
