Only one player on the planet won both the Champions League and the World Cup this season and his name is Raphael Varane.
The centre-back enjoyed a sensation season, winning both trophies as a key part of the starting XI for both club and country.
Varane succeeds Sami Khedira, who was the last man to achieve the feat when he won the Champions League with Real Madrid and the World Cup with Germany back in 2014.
Going into Sunday's final it was guaranteed that someone would achieve the feat, with Mateo Kovacic and Luka Modric both standing to benefit if Croatia had won the title.
Interestingly, the last four players to have completed the double have all do so as Real Madrid players: Christian Karembeu, Roberto Carlos, Khedira and now Varane.
