VAR confirmed Mendy was fractionally offside

It was difficult to see, but the linesman did excellently to spot the offside. Real Madrid thought they had gone in front in the 74th minute, but the goal did not count. 

The ball went to Mendy, who controlled and sent it to Bale. The Welshman was not offside when he finished, but the Frenchman was offside in the build up. 

The first replays were not clear, but a few seconds later, replays from the VAR room showed that he was just offside.

Throughout the encounter, Real Madrid ended up asking for two penalties on Varane, but nothing was given. They occurred in the space of three minutes. 

In the meantime, Leo Messi ended up missing what he never normally misses. The Argentine could have put Barcelona ahead had he not made a mistake inside the box. 

The Camp Nou were not happy with the yellow card situation. Barca committed three fouls and got three yellows, but on the other hand, Real Madrid made seven fouls and did not get a single card.
