"They came into the match against PSG, in very difficult conditions, in a ground that PSG rarely lose in. They are in the middle of an excellent run of form and we must be aware of this. They are not a team to write off", he said.
In the pre match Press conference of the match between Barcelona and Real Betis, Valverde defined United as "one of the most historical teams in Europe" and predicted that the tie would be "attractive, difficult and open", whilst also refusing to assume the rold of favourites.
He added "All 8 teams will believe they can win it at this stage of the competition" only one can lift the trophy at the end of it all however "We are in the Quarter-Finals of the Champions League and every team left in the competition is here on merit and would deserve to go all the way"
He also didn't believe there was much of an advantage in the second leg being played at the Camp Nou. "Yes, we get the factor of the Camp Nou in the Quarter finals, but everybody has their own home advantage at some point, 4 are home at first and 4 get the advantage second, the 'Camp Nou factor' isnt as important as before" He concluded.
