That's the final whistle! Uruguay will be very disappointed with their performance particularly in attacking areas, as they looked to be really missing Edison Cavani's offensive impetus. For France, they looked in control of the game for the most part and played some good football at times, meaning they will feel confident going in to the last 4. Of course Muslera's shocker will grab the headlines, but France's professional performance should not be forgotten.
  • 92'
Goal scorer Griezmann is replaced by Fekir.
  • 90'
There are 5 added minutes. What can Uruguay do?
  • 88'
Pogba brought down by Gimenez just outside the defender's box.
  • 87'
Kylian Mbappe leaves the pitch to be replaced by Ousmane Dembele.
  • 80'
Tolisso makes way for Steven Nzonzi.
  • 79'
Varane brought down in his own box after Uruguay try to get a head to the ball.
  • 76'
Great play in the build up to the chance, with wonderfully intricate passing at the edge of the box. Mbappe tries dancing through the defence but can't and Giroud's resulting shot is way wide.
  • 72'
Tolisso has a wonderful chance from just outside the box, but puts it over the bar. Should have done a lot better.
  • 66'
A scuffle has broken out among the players after Mbappe seems to be fouled. Uruguay are implying he's play-acting with Godin and Suarez particularly annoyed. Mbappe and Rodriguez get a caution each for the incident.

SECOND GOAL FOR FRANCE!!! It's an absolute howler from Muslera in the Uruguayan net, as Griezmann hits a fairly tame shot from distance. The keeper flaps at the ball, and it loops up and lands in the net. It's not one he'll ever want to watch back.
  • 59'
Double change for Uruguay. Stuani and Bentancur are off. Gomez and Rodriguez are on.
  • 58'
Uruguay apply attacking pressure but Caceres's shot from outside the box misses hopelessly.
  • 56'
Umtiti is almost caught in possession in his own box and just about scrambles the ball away. It falls to Bentancour, but his shot is nowhere near going in.
  • 55'
Lucas Hernandez wins a foul just outside of his own box.
  • 53'
Benjamin Pavard tries to recreate his heroic against Argentina by trying a shot from way out on the half volley, but it's off target.
  • 52'
Mbappe earns his side a corner from the left.
  • 47'
What was Muslera doing??? The Uruguayan keeper tries to play out from the back but almost loses possession to Griezmann. Luckily for Uruguay, the ball goes out for a goal kick.
  • 45'
    France get play going again.
  • 45'
That's the end of the half. France were undoubtedly the best attacking team in that 45 minutes, greating a lot of chances but not being clinical enough. That goal came at a really important time for Didier Deschamps's men, and it meant that Uruguay had to go for it a bit more in the last few minutes of the half. May see a more open game from Uruguay in the second period as they chase the game.
  • 45'
    2 minutes added on.
  • 43'
Wonderful save!!! Uruguay get a chance from a set piece, and the resulting header is expertly kept out by the French captain Lloris.
  • 42'
Nandez with a shot from distance but it's straight at Lloris. They're going to have to go for it a bit now after falling behind.

GOAL!!!!!! It's been coming to be fair. Griezmann whips in a nice ball from a freekick on the right wing. Defender Raphael Varane rises well and flicks the ball in to the far post of the goal.
  • 39'
Tolisso is brought down painfully not far from the Uruguayan box. He's requiring treatment.
  • 38'
Pogba and Griezmann combine nicely on the edge of the opposition box, but the eventual cross from Mbappe is blocked.
  • 36'
Uruguay get a shot on target, but it's straight at Lloris.
  • 35'
Mbappe with another blistering run down the right wing, but his cross in to the box comes before any French player is in there to meet it.

  • 33'
Lucas Hernandez get a caution for a cynical challenge.
  • 30'
France are constantly getting the ball in to the box, but the deep-lying Uruguayan defence are coping well so far. Don't think we'll see much expansive play from the South Americans today.
  • 26'

  • 22'
France have picked up the pace in the last few minutes, and the pressure earns them a corner which is cleared by the opposition defence.

Paul Pogba with an effort from 30 yards, but it flies high and wide to give Uruguay a goal kick.
  • 15'
He is human! Kylian Mbappe misses a golden chance to put his team ahead after a knock down from Giroud, but his free header loops over the bar. He should have done better though.
  • 14'
A corner comes in from Uruguay, and as it is about to fall to an attacker Hugo Lloris punches it away from danger.
  • 10'
Nandez with a strong challenge on Hernandez, but the resulting free kick comes to nothing.

  • 2'
Olivier Giroud is down holding his ankle, but should be okay to continue.
  • 1'

This game should be an absolute cracker, with France one of the best attacks left in the tournament and Uruguay with one of the best defences.

This match has been billed by some as a battle between the old and the new in striking talent. Uruguayan Luis Suarez, playing at his third World Cup, will be looking to make the difference for his side. On the French side, 19 year-old Kylian Mbappe has burst on to the international scene in the last year, proving his star quality with a well-taken brace against Argentina. Who will come out on top today?
  • PRVW
Edinson Cavani is on the bench for Uruguay, which will be a huge blow for the team in the attacking areas of the pitch. However, having been included in the squad there is always a chance he could make an impact as a substitute.
