Manchester United plan on attempting to secure a loan deal for Gareth Bale this summer as they plan their ascent back into the top echelon of European football.
Real Madrid have made it plainly clear that they do not have Bale in their plans for next season, especially with Eden Hazard finally sealing his move from Chelsea.
Real have put a £75m price tag on Bale and both United and former club Tottenham have made it perfectly clear that they will not pay that for Bale.
According to the Mirror however, United would be interested in a loan deal, with the option of an extension of a further 12 months. This would at least partially please Real, as they would be able to take around £50m out of their wage bill for the next two seasons, as they plan their own squad overhaul follwing a dismal season.
While United have primarily targeted young players this summer, they are willing to finance a big deal for Bale, who is currently earning £480,000-a-week in Madrid. He is a player that the young players can look up to and learn from, whilst the fans would appreciate the signing of a player of the calibre of Bale.
Should Bale join United it would be a first major coup for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who made his first signing with the young Welsh star, Daniel James, arriving at Old Trafford from Swansea City .
