As his contract at Manchester United draws to a close this summer, Juan Mata faces ending his nine season stint at the club and starting a new adventure elsewhere as a professional player.
At 33 years old, the ex Chelsea man dreams of making a return to Spanish club football this summer. It is unknown whether he will go back to Valencia or if he will try his luck at another La Liga club.
However, 'The Sun' newspaper has reported that Manchester United's board have offered Mata a role at the club should he decide to hang up his boots at the end of this season.
Although Mata would ideally like to keep playing for at least another year, he now has something to fall back on should he decide to retire early.
