United to offer Cantona ambassador role

It may not be long before Cantona is able to be as incisive about United's performance as he was recently. The club is considering getting him on the payroll as an ambassador and, as reported by 'Mirror', will make the offer in the coming weeks.

The reasons? The ex-player is a club legend. He was there from the middle of the 92-93 season until the end of 96-97 when he retired. He played 165 matches and scored 73 goals. This is an average of 0.44 goals per match.

Not long ago, he jumped into the institutional limelight because he received a UEFA prize. After accepting it, he made a speech that became quite famous, so he still has the ability to put himself on everyone's lips. This will be key if they hire him.

With United's intention on the table in the eyes of the English press, all that remains is for the former player to make up his mind. The ball is in his court and he will have to weigh his return to the club. This would mean cutting himself some slack when it comes to criticising the squad, but it will be his choice.
