Thanks for joining us for our live coverage of the 2019 Women's World Cup. What a tournament it's been, with the USA eventually running out worthy winners.
  • Finished
The USA are Women's World Cup winners for the fourth time thanks to Rapinoe's and Lavelle's second-half goals! The Netherlands fought hard and proved to be a tough nut to crack, but the contentious VAR awarded penalty set the US on their way and they were clearly the better side after taking the lead.

  • 90'
    FT: USA 2-0 NETHERLANDS!
  • 90'
The USA are just keeping the ball now and the Dutch look out on their feet.
  • 90'
    Five minutes added on here.
  • 89'
The US have gone to five at the back as they look to see this one out, and they're looking comfortable at the minute.
  • 88'
Half chance for Roord on the edge of the area, but her left-footed shot squirms wide of the post.
  • 86'
Carli Lloyd comes on to replace Tobin Heath for what could be her last appearance.
  • 84'
Acres of space for the USA every time they break now. The Dutch are defending desperately to keep the scoreline respectable.
  • 82'
Morgan is put through to the left, but she tries to shoot from an angle as she looks for the Golden Boot and it's a comfortable save for van Veenendaal.
  • 79'
Spitse steps up and fires a free-kick at goal from 30-yards, but it flies just wide of the left post. That's the closest that the Dutch have got to scoring.
  • 78'
Rapinoe makes way for Christen Press, who filled in for her against England.
  • 77'
Beerensteyn cuts in from the left and tries a shot from the edge of the area, but it's straight at Naeher.
  • 75'
Another top save from van Veenendaal! Dunn cuts inside and breaks into the area, where the space opens up for her, but she fires straight at van Veenendaal. The US are well and truly on top and smelling blood here.
  • 72'
Another change for the Dutch as Shanice van de Sanden replaces defender Dekker. The Netherlands are going all out now...
  • 69'
Lieke Martens, who was an injury doubt for this game, makes way for Jill Roord.
  • 68'
GOAAALLLLLLLLLL! USA DOUBLE THEIR LEAD! What a strike! Lavelle scores an incredible individual goal...she receives the ball near the halfway line and drives deep into the Dutch half. The defence sit back and sit back and don't challenge her, and the American midfielder fires a low shot from the edge of the area into the far corner with her left-foot. That could be that.....
  • 61'
Van der Gragt received a yellow card for her challenge on Morgan there.
Penalty scored
Goaaaaal from a penalty!
de Estados Unidos en el 61'
  • 61'
GOAAAAAAAALLLL FOR USA! Rapinoe slides the penalty into the bottom right corner and the USA finally have their noses in front.
  • 59'
PENALTY TO THE USA! The referee watches the replay and awards the penalty! Van der Gragt missed the ball and did kick Morgan, who quickly hit the floor. Rapinoe will take...
  • 54'
Another clash of heads, this time between van de Donk and Sauerbrunn, with the latter coming off worse and blood running down her face.
  • 50'
The USA are keeping possession well so far, with Dunn flashing an effort wide from the edge of the area. The Dutch are restricting the USA still, with the Americans not creating anything clear cut so far this half.
  • 47'
Rapinoe whips in a corner from the left, but Ertz heads wide as she meets it at the near post.
  • 45'
Back underway in Lyon! Will we find a winner in the next 45 minutes, or will we need extra-time?
  • 45'
The players are back out, with O'Hara being replaced by Ali Krieger at the half. That could be linked to the head injury she sustained just before the interval.
  • 45'
HT: USA 0-0 NETHERLANDS! That's all for the first-half, with the Dutch doing enough to keep the Americans at bay for 45 minutes - mainly down to the brilliance of van Veenendaal in goal. Will either side find a breakthrough in the second-half? See you in 15 to find out...
  • 45'
A Dutch corner causes havoc in the American box, but the defence eventually hook the ball clear.
  • 45'
Both are ok to carry on, and Miedama leads a mazy run into the US box which sees her cross from the left headed clear.
  • 45'
Two minutes added on here. Medics are currently on after a heavy collision of heads between Martens and O'Hara, so expect some more football before the interval.
  • 42'
Spitse takes the free-kick, but effort is in truth rather poor and the Dutch are lucky to win a corner.
  • 40'
Woah - this final has just burst into life here! As the US press on for an opener, the Dutch hit them on the break with the pace of Beerensteyn, who is brought down in a dangerous position by Dahlkemper. The American defender receives a yellow card and the Netherlands have a free-kick within shooting range.
  • 39'
Another great save from van Veenendaal! Alex Morgan unleashes a rasping left-footed effort from the edge of the box, but the Dutch goalkeeper gets down low to tip it behind for a corner.
  • 38'
USA come close twice!! Two crosses from the left cause trouble for the Netherlands! The first is Mewis' ball in, which is headed straight at an onrushing van Veenendaal. Moments later, Rapinoe's cross finds Morgan, who pokes an effort goalwards that the Dutch keeper does well to sandwich onto the post before scooping up the rebound.
  • 35'
America take a couple of risks playing out of defence, but it ends in an attack that sees Morgan hit the floor after a nudge in the back from Janssen in the area. The Americans call for a penalty, but the referee is having none of it.
  • 32'
The USA win another corner that is cleared easily by the Netherlands. The Dutch have done well to contain the USA in this opening half an hour.
  • 30'
Tobin Heath gets away down the right with some nice skill, but once again he cross finds nobody in the middle.
  • 29'
A break in play whilst Sauerbrunn received some treatment, but she's good to continue.
  • 27'
Big save from van Veenendaal! The ball flicks up to Ertz from a corner, who hits a powerful volley towards the far post that the Dutch keeper pushes away with two hands.
  • 25'
Chance for Beerensteyn, who seems to be operating as a striker, to stretch her legs as a through ball is slid in behind the American defence, but Naeher comes out to just about beat her to it on the edge of the box.
  • 24'
Van Veenendaal clears out of play under pressure from Morgan. A cagey opening 25 minutes in Lyon.
  • 22'
Dunn tries to pump an early cross into the area, but van Veenendaal comes out to claim it with ease. The States are yet to really get going here.
  • 20'
Morgan finds herself with space as she drops deep to get the ball. She spots Heath making a run through to her right, but mishits the pass and it rolls on through to the goalkeeper.
  • 19'
Lieke Martens beats two down the left and the Netherlands have another dangerous attack going, but Sauerbrunn reads her pass well to cut out the attack. No sign of that pesky foot injury troubling Martens so far.
  • 17'
Rapinoe is out-muscled by Dekker down the left, but falls to the floor pleading for a foul. Nothing given by the referee - seemed a fair shoulder-to-shoulder battle, there.
  • 16'
Lavelle finds space to the right of the area after the corner, but her low cross is well held by van Veenendaal.
  • 15'
The US are focusing their attacks down the wings early on here, and Rapinoe wins a corner from the left after van Lunteren blocks her cross behind.
  • 13'
O'Hara suffers the ignominy of committing a foul throw in a World Cup final...
  • 11'
Plenty of space for the Netherlands to break when they do win the ball as the US look to press on high in possession. Van de Donk tries to slide the ball through to Beerensteyn, but Naeher comes out quickly to beat her to the ball.
  • 10'
Rapinoe's delivery is poor and is easily headed away by the Dutch defence.
  • 9'
First yellow card of the day goes to Spitse as she mistimes a slide tackle on Lavelle. Not sure how much contact she actually made there, but this is a good place for a US free-kick...
  • 7'
Rapinoe tries a sweeping diagonal ball across to Heath on the other side of the pitch, but the US winger can't quite reach it and it goes behind for a goal kick. Just before that, van de Donk left a rather heavy late tackle on Ertz, and may have been lucky to escape a card.
  • 6'
Another decent attack from the USA as Heath gets away down the right and crosses. The Dutch fail to clear their lines, and Rapinoe crosses back in from the left but can't find a teammate.
  • 4'
Alex Morgan went down in a heap after colliding with van Luteren at the start of that Dutch attack, by the way. Seems like she'll be ok to carry on though.
  • 3'
Martens gets away down the left and cuts inside, leaving the Dutch with a three on three in a dangerous attack. However, she completely mishits her pass to Beerensteyn and gifts the USA a throw in. Wasteful from Mertens.
  • 2'
First hint of danger as Mewis wiggles into the box down the left, but her cutback is cleared by the Dutch defence.
  • 1'
AND WE'RE OFF! USA get us underway in Lyon...we're potentially just 90 minutes away from crowning the next world champions.

The Netherlands arrived in the final courtesy of a rather tedious 1-0 extra-time victory over Sweden on Wednesday evening. They are the current European champions after their surprise Euro 2017 win, and will be hoping to cause another upset against the overwhelming favourites and holders here today.
  • PRVW
The USA are competing in their third straight final thanks to a dramatic 2-1 win against England on Tuesday night. They will be looking to match the Germany sides of 2003 and 2007 by becoming the second nation to win back-to-back World Cups, but their task won't be straightforward against a stubborn Netherlands side.
  • PRVW
Netherlands make just one change from their semi-final victory, with Anouk Dekker starting in place of Merel van Dongen in defence. This change also sees Dominique Bloodworth slide out to left-back, whilst the influential Like Martens has passed a late fitness test and is set to start on the Dutch left.
  • PRVW
So, the USA make two changes from the side that beat England in the semi-finals, as the never-shy Megan Rapinoe returns to the starting XI in place of Christen Press. Their other change sees Sam Mewis take the place of Lindsey Horan in midfield.
  • PRVW
