Manchester United have Raphael Varane down as one of the main objectives to bring in this summer to reinforce their defence. However, he might not be their only new addition. The sporting directive at Old Trafford want another solid centre-back aside from the Frenchman, and reportedly have their eyes on Pau Torres.
According to information from 'Manchester Evening News', the Red Devils are closely following the Villarreal man, whose release clause currently stands at 60 million euros. In an attempt to try and lower this amount, the aforementioned media outlet indicate that Eric Bailly could be included in the deal, a player that those from Castellon know well from his time at the club.
This deal certainly looks plausible given Bailly's statements a few months back. "I've signed a new contract, but if I'm not starting, I will look for another option", the man himself told 'The Times' regarding his future in Manchester.
The option of Bailly plus a decent transfer fee for Pau could be to Villarreal's liking who, if they decide to let their star centre-back go, will try and get as much as possible for the Spanish international.
