Manchester United have been alleged to have paid an extra bonus to AS Monaco as part of the deal which saw the Premier League side sign Radamel Falcao on loan.
According to Football Leaks, United originally agreed to pay the Ligue 1 side a fee of £9million to take the Colombian striker to Manchester, of which, £3.5million was to be paid on the condition that United finished in the top four.
Yet, French rules prohibit performance related bonuses, and as such, United drew up an extra contract on the day that they signed Falcao; the second of which showed the club agreeing to pay the extra sum for a 'Pre-season friendly' match.
Of course. the match never took pace, but the contract conveniently stipulated that the club would have to pay AS Monaco the fee regardless.
United did manage to finish in the top four that season, in spite of Falcao failing to live up to expectation. The match did not take place the following summer, but the United secretary still paid AS Monaco via 'Mediapart', which was to be paid before the June deadline.
Manchester United have declined to comment on the allegations.
