'United is the last club players would want to go to'

Dimitar Berbatov was very critical of Manchester United's current situation. The 'Betfair' ambassador spoke about the club's signing difficulties because of their poor form.

Despite his status as a former striker and Manchester United star, Dimitri Berbatov did not hesitate to criticise the situation Solskjaer's side is facing, along with their serious transfer problems as a consequence.

"In the past, you only had to say Manchester United and you were already asking where to sign. If you asked a group of players now, United would probably be the last team the players would want to go to," said the Bulgarian.

Berbatov played for United between 2008 and 2012 and knows the club inside out. "Not so long ago the opportunity to sign for Manchester United was an irresistible attraction for the best players in the world, but it has declined so much that an offer from Old Trafford would not be met with a 'thank you' but with a 'no thank you'," he said.

The Bulgarian also spoke about Tevez's possible return. "Why not? Yes, after United he went to City, but I don't care about that. There's no one in the team who can intimidate opponents like Tevez," he explained.

Finally, Berbatov remembered Keane. "He was threatening to slit your throat if you didn't work hard. Maybe United need Tevez for the same reasons, a player who always had that quality of shouting at the whole team when needed," he said.
