Manchester United, who were unable to sign Cody Gakpo from PSV because Liverpool were too quick, are thinking about going for Roma's Tammy Abraham to fill the space which Cristiano Ronaldo left. 'TeamTalk' reported that the Old Trafford side were already interest in Jose Mourinho's man last summer.
The Englishman's market value is around €43 million, but it would make sense for him to leave his side for a higher price. The reason being that there are several big names after him. Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Chelsea (his break-through club) have all been linked with a move to get him away from the Serie A, therefore a possible return to the Premier League is gaining traction.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that the Red Devils have considered the striker as a 'second choice'. Last summer, the Mancunian side considered getting him in because Darwin Nunez, who also ended up going to Liverpool, rejected Ten hag's side.
This choice can also be analysed as a loss of appeal of Man Utd. In the past, players from all over the world would have fought hard to get into the side, and would have been asking their agents to prioritise getting them moves there, but the reality nowadays is quite different. There is no longer that desire from the world's best to don the Theatre of Dreams' side, who are desperate to overcome this nightmare.
