Unsurprisingly, there is a huge demand in tickets for the Manchester derby, hence the request from United for an extended allocation. They had hoped for at least 3,000 tickets for the game, up from the 2,792 they were given last season.
However, the request has only been partially accomodated, with 'Sky Sports' citing concerns over crowd trouble and policing as the reasons behind the decision.
City face Southampton next in the Premier League, and providing they don't lose they will head into the first derby of the season with an unbeaten record.
Last season, there were clashes between rival supporters ahead of the April date, with City potentially winning the title against their rivals.
