Manchester United will play against Atletico Madrid on 15th March to keep their Champions League dream alive this season. However, it is not just the present and immediate future which is preocupying the side from Manchester. In the background they are planning on who to bring into the squad for next season.
This Saturday, Rudy Gillet, a journalist specialised in transfers, confirmed that Hakan Calhanoglu is on the agenda at Old Trafford. The Turkish centre-midfielder transferred from AC Milan to city rivals Inter last summer. He could be packing his bags again this summer.
The cited source assured that the team from Old Trafford have already made contact with the Italian club to find out what the situation is with the player and to hint at a possible transfer.
Calhanoglu appears to be a recommnedation of Ragnick's. The United coach, who will become sporting director at the club from the summer, wants his signature. However, this will not be a cheap deal. The Turk has a contract at Inter until 2024, and therefore the team from Milan will no doubt make it very difficult for one of its stars to leave the club.
This season Inter's number 20 has made 31 appearances for the 'Neroazzurri', scoring six goals and making eight assists.
