The Dutchman has revealed that he's likely to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season after becoming frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities.
Van der Wiel played in the second leg of his side's Champions League quarter-final defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday, but has only started 21 games so far this season.
The 28-year-old has spent four seasons with the Ligue 1 side, but has indicated that this season is likely to be his last.
He told 'Algemeen Dagblad', "I'm not happy here,
"One week I sit in the stands and the other week I play in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
"It doesn't seem that I will stay. We shall see what happens."
