It has been one of the big stories of the day both in the UK and in Spain. Those travelling from Spain will have to quarantine. That makes one wonder what will happen with the Man City v Real Madrid game?
Man City v Real Madrid is scheduled for the Etihad Stadium on 7th August, less than two weeks time. Whoever wins that tie (City are 1-2 up from the first leg) will play the final eight in Lisbon.
But there could be a problem. Because from midnight, the Government will force all those coming back from Spain to quarantine in our country.
UEFA, consulted by 'AS', have not commented on it so we will have to wait for official news from the Government shortly.
After the reintroduction of the quarantine period, the Government will have to decide whether to make an exemption to this rule as Real Madrid cannot quarantine for 14 days.
It is very difficult to know what will happen, but the possible solution are an exception by the Government or the game will have to be moved to a neutral country.
