In the last few hours, news was already pointing to some pressure being brought to bear on the organisation by Turkey's military offensive in Syria.
Apparently, these new events have changed the attitude of the body, chaired by Aleksander Ceferin, and in the coming weeks a change of venue could be advised.
All indications are that it will be an internal decision, but what is clear is that it did not sit well with UEFA, who had these words to say to those responsible: "We know that the seriousness of what is happening in Syria will not be resolved with this act."
On the 4th December, in a UEFA Executive Committee, this item will be dealt with and reviewed under one of the items on the agenda. The Turkish government's action has cast a shadow over its organisation of the Champions League final and could be subject to heavy sanctions.
