Edwards is widely regarded as one of the best young players in England and manager Mauricio Pochettino has compared the youngster to Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
The Argentine said, "The qualities - it's only looks, his body and the way that he plays - remember a little bit from the beginning of Messi".
The 18-year-old was recently part of England's successful U19s European Championship, mainly being used as an impact substitute to change games late on. Edwards made his first-team debut in the Tottenham's 5-0 EFL Cup victory over Gillingham in September.
