Illan Meslier, Leeds United's first-choice goalkeeper for the past two years, has great admiration for the career of Hugo Lloris. The France first-choice goalkeeper and World Cup winner could leave Tottenham at the end of the season and he could be his replacement.
According to 'The Atletic', Spurs would consider Marcelo Bielsa's former goalkeeper to replace their current captain. Despite not being considered by Didier Deschamps, Meslier is just 22 years old compared to his compatriot's almost 36.
Currently, Lloris, Areola and Mike Maignan, who has been a top performer at Serie A champions Milan, are the goalkeepers ahead of him in France.
At 22 years of age, Meslier does not have much time left in the U21s, so Deschamps would be hard-pressed to leave one of the best goalkeepers of the moment out of the Qatar 2022 squad.
