Tottenham are one of those teams that have become one of the revelations of the season. Despite finishing fourth in England, the 'Spurs' are in the final of the Champions League.
Pochettino's team has had a great campaign, and all without buying a single new player in more than a year. In fact, the British team's latest transfer was Moussa Dembele, who was sold to Chinese football in January.
The 'Spurs' had everything to lose, but they have somehow come out on the other side with an amazing season that has surprised even their own fans. They first have to face the Champions League final, but that doesn't stop them from having an eye on the future.
There is some concern about the possible departure of Eriksen, a player who has a contract until 2020 and who at the moment has not had a renewal. Real Madrid has been on the lookout for the Danish player, although nothing has been confrimed as of yet, meaning it could be nothing but a mere rumour.
But it is precisely this same team that is currently the home to a player that has spiked up interest in Tottenham: Dani Ceballos. That is what the newspaper 'AS' reports, which also points out that Pochettino sees him as the perfect replacement of the Danish.
This season, the numbers of the former Betis player have been as follows: 34 games between all competitions, in which he has scored three goals and given two assists.
If we compare these data with Eriksen, the difference is very clear. The Dane has so far played 50 games and has ten goals and 17 assists.
The Tottenham midfielder, clearly with superior performances, is still on the list of players who could be about to become a part of Zidane's new porject.
