France's highest administrative court has confirmed the end of the Ligue 1 season as announced by the LFP back on 30th April when they confirmed PSG as the champions.
Those against the decision to terminate the campaign prematurely went to the Council of the State to try and prevent it being declared over, but the season is now officially over.
The highest court in France turned down Lyon's appeal. Their president, Jean-Michel Aulas, called for play-offs to determine European placings rather than current standing.
Therefore, Lyon will only make it into Europe if they beat PSG in the League Cup final on 25th July.
However, Amiens and Toulouse won their appeal against relegation so the French league could see 22 teams next term.
Both clubs argued that the LFP's rules stated that relegation cannot be applied if all 38 matchdays are not applied.
