Current Lecce man Samuel Umtiti spoke to 'Canal Plus' and put into words his frustration over his spell at Barcelona. The defender was not happy at the Spanish side in footballing terms as well as socially.
"The only thing I needed was to feel appreciated, useful and respected, but in Catalonia I spent four years in depression, not only in terms of football but also in daily life",the ex-Barca man said.
When talking about Lecce,he said: "It was a challenge for me. I know that, here, staying up is worth the same as a trophy. It's good, I've refound my smile here and I'm thankful to the society for that".
"Now my mind is just on avoiding the drop. A short while ago, my friend Lacazette came to see him and we thought that, before retiring, it'd be good to play a bit more together", Umtiti said about the possibility of playing with the Lyon man.
To finish, the French centre-back gave a summary of how his future may pan out, and said he's not thinking about going back to Barcelona: "I want to keep feeling good. I've achieved that in Italy. I love the language and the fashion".
