Everyone at PSG is trying to persuade Thiago Silva to stay in France because the club need him in defence.
His contract at the club expires once the Champions League finishes. The Brazilian decided to extend his contract which was due to end on 30th June.
The option of returning to Brazil is still on the table for the central defender. But the squad want him to become one of the senior figures in the team and Tuchel has again confirmed that Silva will always be the leader.
"If he's on the pitch, he's the captain, that's clear," Tuchel said. PSG are aware of his leadership and no player doubts it.
"He'll be the captain until the last day and that doesn't change. We have Marquinhos, Kimpembe and Thiago, who are at the highest level in Europe. We are very happy that they are with us and if we play with two central defenders, I have to choose. It's important that we come with all three. The one who is the strongest will play, all three are at the same level for me," the German coach added.
Rumours keep on linking him with a return to Brazil and even with other big clubs in Europe. Nevertheless, Tuchel wants to give him power to decide whether he will leave or stay for at least another season.
