PSG crashed out of the Champions League in the round of 16 earlier this season at the hands of Real Madrid after a dramatic capitulation in the Santiago Bernabeu. The PSG faithful have still not managed to let this go. Neymar, Messi, Mbappe and company have been on the receiving end of boos and whistles from their own fans at the Parc de Princes.
After becoming champions of France once again via a 1-1 draw with Lens, a game in which Messi got on the scoresheet, Neymar appeared apathetic to his critics. His comments to 'ESPN' were clear: "They're going to get tired of booing me because I've got three years left on my contract. I'm here, with the boos".
"I'm going to stay here, I still have three more years... either they stop or they go elsewhere. Messi's goal? It was brilliant and it made me happy because he looked happy. I hope he scores loads more", continued the Brasilian, enamored by his Argentine counterpart with whom he shared some of the best moments of his career at Barcelona.
"The atmosphere is a shame. Football is our passion, we started so young. We try to enjoy ourselves as much as possible. It's a shame that we can't do this with the fans but that's something we will have to overcome", highlighted the attacker after being questioned on the fans' criticism of him and the squad. His words may now just have made what remains of the season slightly more difficult for the team when they step out in front of their fans...
