19:23: England face Iran, USA and one of Wales, Scotland and Ukraine in group B. Portugal (H), Spain, Germany (both E) and France (D) are in the toughest groups for the World Cup.

Group A: Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal, Netherlands. Group B: England, Iran, USA, Wales/Scotland/Ukraine. Group C: Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland. Group D: France, Australia/UAE/Peru, Denmark and Tunisia.

Group E: Spain, NZ/Costa Rica, Germany, Japan. Group F: Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Croatia. Group G: Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon. Group H: Portugal, Ghana, Uruguay and South Korea. 

19:18: Finally, Canada are drawn out and they will be in group F with Belgium, Morocco and Croatia!

19:17: Ghana will be in group H with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea! H2.

18:46: Pot 3 is Senegal, Itan, Japan, Morocco, Serbia, Poland, South Korea and Tunisia. Pot 4 contains Saudi Arabia, Ecuador, Ghana, Cameroon, Canada, AFC v CONMEBOL play-off winner, OFC v CONCACAF play-off winner, UEFA play-off winner.

18:45: Pot 1 is now being drawn. Qatar, Brazil, Belgium, France, Argentina, England, Spain and Portugal. Then it will be pot 2: Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, Mexico, USA, Switzerland, Croatia and Uruguay.

17:29: Canada are at their first World Cup since 1986 after coming top of the CONCACAF qualifying section. It is a great achievement for them.

17:03: The headline news is that there is no Italy at the World Cup for the second time in a row after the shock defeat to North Macedonia in the play-off semi-final. The North Macedonians lost to Portugal in the final.

17:01: France won the last World Cup after beating Croatia 4-2 in Moscow. England and Belgium were the beaten semi-finalists.

16:50: 29 nations have confirmed their place at the World Cup. There are two intercontinental games between Peru and Australia/UAE and Costa Rica against New Zealand. The situation in Ukraine means that Wales v Scotland/Ukraine is the other spot available.

16:24: A reminder that no more than one country from each Confederation can be in a group. For European teams, five groups will have two teams and the other three will have one.

16:21: Eight groups of four will be formed and one team from each pot will be drawn into each of the eight groups. The top two from each make the last 16.
