When Leo Messi speaks, the world stops. Barcelona are once again in the headlines this summer not only because of the players they have lost, but also because of when Messi's future was in the air.
Messi was furious in an interview with 'Goal' and he mentioned everything that happened in the days after he sent the fax to the club. The Argentine thought about leaving the club and said that he always wanted to help Barcelona improve.
"I understand that there will be those who think I should have kept quiet or let things happen, like on so many other occasions, but I was hurt by a lot of things in recent weeks and it was my way of expressing it," Messi told 'Sport'.
Since Messi began pre-season, there was talk over the Argentine's attitude this season because he only has a year left on his contract. From January, he will be able to negotiate with whichever club he wants.
"Those who know me know that I'm not capable of playing at anything other than going out to win and give it my all on the field of play. It has been like that throughout my entire career and that isn't going to change," he said.
On his relationship with Barceloina after the dispute over the clause in his contract, Messi wants to forget about it and focus on the most important things: football and his commitment.
"Today, my commitment with the club and this shirt is 100%, it remains intact. This team will give their best and will only try to make us and our fans happy," the captain continued.
In the extract of the interview which the newspaper had released earlier, Messi issued a sort of apology, he wanted to move on and sent a message to Barca supporters. "I accept my mistakes. If there were any, it was only to make Barcelona better and stronger. If in any moment anything I said or did annoyed somebody, be in no doubt that I did so always thinking about the best for the club," Messi concluded.
