Alvaro Morata recieved two yellow cards in less than a minute and this deprived him of playing the derby against Real Madrid, which stuck in the striker's mind.
"With Atletico Madrid there are double standards. I never did anything serious, I never insulted anybody, he just went to challenge me because I am not made of stone," Morata explained when he was asked about his quarrel with Salva Sevilla.
The red card meant that he had to miss out on the game against Real Madrid. "I suffered a lot at home. It was a game that I had to play and win, it was one of the biggest games of the year. It's obvious that it's not the same to sanction everyone in the same way," Morata said.
This was the idea that the striker had, who again stressed the same thing. "In the end it's not in the media to sanction everyone in the same way. I said it with the sanction to Costa, that it would have been difficult to see it in other players of La Liga. They have to consider Atletico as a big team. That they respect us, sometimes they don't look at us like other teams," he said.
"When it comes down to it, refereeing is not easy. There are things that are difficult to see. It's true that when it comes to sanctions, they give us an example and not others. One is shocked. The phrase of Diego Costa in the Camp Nou was a phrase that always said. He used to say it because he was angry. Eight games is crazy. Then other players say it and nothing happens," he said.
In addition, Morata explained what Simeone said after being expelled before Mallorca: "He told me that we can all get heated from time to time, that it was a pity that I had to lose out on a game like this for something that is not transcendental".
