With Real Madrid possessing one of the strongest squads in world football, it is normal that their players have attracted admiring glances from elsewhere over the years, with Marco Asensio and Isco in particular having caught the eye of Liverpool's German boss.
Klopp has been watching the pair from a distance for some time now and he will be forced to put his observations into action on Saturday as he looks to shackle the pair.
According to Spanish publication 'AS', Klopp twice tried to sign Asensio last year, viewing him as the perfect replacement for Philippe Coutinho, only to be knocked back on both occasions. The 22-year-old joined Real Madrid for just €4m back in 2014, but would be worth significanly more in today's market.
Meanwhile, Klopp's interest in Isco dates back to 2013, when he was turning in stunning performances for hometown club Malaga fresh from winning the 2012 edition of the Golden Boy award. Klopp told Kicker: "We're not stupid, we wanted Isco. We looked at all the options, but it was quite clear that we weren't going to have the slightest chance of signing him."
With the pair likely to play some part in Sunday's game, it could be familiar faces that break Klopp's Champions League dream.
