Brechin were promoted through the play-offs the previous season after finishing fourth in Scotland's League One. However, they didn't stay there very long.
Despite their best efforts, they failed to win a single game in 29 attempts and instead secured relegation on March 24, 2018, back to the league they had just came from with seven matches still to go.
The part-time club had amassed just four points, 23 points behind the next-placed team, and manager Darren Dods suggested that this played a part in their downfall.
"It had been a challenge and confidence took a hit," Dods told 'BBC'. "We had worked hard and been unfortunate six or seven times when we had probably played the best we could and not got the win.
"It's getting harder and harder for part-time teams to compete in the Championship."
