Liverpool were starting to look tired ten minutes from the final whistle, and still needed one more goal to confirm their ticket to the UCL final. Once the hardest part of the game was over, which was equalising the 3-0 Barcelona had obtained in the first half, the Reds started slowing down their pace.
Barça wanted to regain their advantage to be able to score one goal, which would have been enough to see them through, and the Spanish started alternating in attack... Until the now famous corner launched by Alexander-Arnold.
A ball boy threw a replacement ball to Alexander-Arnold who quickly took the corner. This action contributed Liverpool greatly, as Barcelona players were not ready for it, and didn't even defend their box properly.
The rest is history. Arnold sent the corner all the way through to Origi who was among some very distracted Barcelona defenders. The Belgianbeat Ter Stegen's save and ended up scoring, taking the joy and madness to the stands and later on, to the Anfield dressing room.
