Football could return in Poland on 29th May. That is what the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, has said in a press conference.
The Polish Government are now working on a plan for sport to return after the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be in four phases and start on 4th May with the first match on 29th May.
"We have a precise plan to lead up to the first Ekstraklasa game which could be played at the end of May," Morawiecki announced when he spoke about the return to football.
"We are planning for the Ekstraklasa to resume on 29th May, two days before the two Polish Cup quarter-final games. All, of course, under a special protocol, each player will have a medical card," the PZPN general secretary, Maciej Sawicki, said this week.
The first of the four phases, which starts on 4th May, would be the opening of the stadia, sports fields and go-kart tracks. Up to five people can be at once in the facilities.
The second and third steps are to open schools, for a maximum of five people per classroom, the opening of gyms, swimming pools, climbing walls and squash courts.
Lastly, the fourth stage is the organisation of large scale events, among which the resumption of the Polish League on 29th May.
