Salamanca CF UDS' surreal pre-season has not yet finished. After the Spanish Federation rejected their plan to appoint Jose Luis Trejo as their manager, the ex-Mexican referee Marco Antonio Rodriguez has been given the job. He is nicknamed 'Chiquimarco' (little Marco).

Trejo, who was a runner-up in the 2001 Copa Libertadores with Cruz Azul, was going to become Salamanca's manager for this season, but he does not have the license demanded by the Spanish Federation to coach in Spain. ,

The club was then without a manager less than a week before the start of the Segunda B season. They tried to find a solution to the problem, but in the end, they have gone for another coach

He is Marco Antonio Rodriguez, an ex-referee who has become a coach. In Mexico he was famous and was known was 'Chiquimarco' (little Marco). He refereed the 2014 World Cup game between Uruguay and Italy when Luis Suarez bit Chiellini on the shoulder and he also did the famous Brazil-Germany semi-final which ended 1-7.
