The Espanyol defender will never forget Sunday January 28th 2018, a day in which he managed to do something never before seen in the Spanish top flight. The cherry on the top of the cake being that he didn't even mean to do it.
During the defeat to Leganes, the 22-year-old scored the most surreal hat-trick in La Liga history. With just 11 minutes on the clock, the former Real Madrid academy player handed the hosts the lead as he put through his own net, but that was just the start.
In the final ten minutes of the game, Hermoso found the net at both ends. First, in the 82nd minute, he scored his second own-goal of the day to put Leganes 3-1 up.

However, clearly keen to cap off a memorable performance, the youngster went down the other end to ensure that he completed his 'hat-trick', not that he knew much about it as the ball deflected in off the defender.
The game finished 3-2 to Leganes, with three of the five goals the fruits of Hermoso's labours.

Pedro Marin of 'COPE' confirmed that "Hermoso is the first player to score a goal and two own-goals in a La Liga game."
